About the Artist​

Yanela Dedrick is a self-taught painter who works in acrylics. She was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to New York City when she was in high school. Yanela and her family enjoy traveling and visiting National Parks and other scenic locations. Her paintings are inspired by those travels, and by the local San Diego scenery. On weekends, she displays her work near the International Cottages in Balboa Park, with the San Diego County Art Mart Association. She also is a member of the Off Track Gallery in Encinitas, where she won Best of Show for her painting "Moonlight Over San Diego Harbor" in  December 2022 and for "Playa La Poza de Bojolo" in May, 2023, and first prize in acrylics in January 2022 for her painting "Swami's Beach".
